Dino Berthold
Dino received his B.Sc., M.Sc. and PhD in the group of Prof. Bernhard Breit at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg (Germany) working on the development of novel Rh(I)-catalyzed asymmetric hydrofunctionalization reactions of allenes and alkynes, as well as their application in target-oriented synthesis. After receiving his PhD in 2019, he joined the group of Prof. Willem van Otterlo at Stellenbosch university (South Africa) as an Alexander-von-Humboldt postdoctoral fellow. Due to the impact of Covid-19 pandemic the work on the total synthesis of naphthyl isoquinoline alkaloids for potential pancreatic cancer treatment was partially performed in the group of Prof. Reinhard Brückner at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg (Germany).
After pursuing a second Alexander-von-Humboldt PostDoc in the group of Prof. Oliver Trapp at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) Munich (Germany), he is now since 2024 a junior group leader at LMU Munich.
